The three different designs are symbolizing three stages of the alien evolution. The first design built by the facehugger. The second one inspired by the egg and the shape of the “egg-laying tube”. The third is the full-grown Alien.
I chose the hard, clear plastic pipes with different diameters for balancing the softness of the screen. The pipes were inspired by all the bio-mechanical details of aliens. These pipes are also shaped as the skeleton of the alien creature. Using the clear material of the pipes I applied reflecting lines inside of them. The reflective lines are reacting the flash of photo camera, or other lighting, making these details of the design much more visible. Boosting the mystery of surface I used curtain liner for holding the pipes. The liner also clear so it’s makes an extra layer of transparency and summon the mystique lights of airbrush paintings.
